This course is aimed at new entrants to the commercial gas industry who are looking to become Gas Safe registered commercial engineers.

The course consists of a comprehensive 30-day training and assessment programme focussing on the key areas of gas safety and covers subjects such as:

·   Gas – combustion, pressure and flow

·   Gas safety legislation

·   Pipe-work and fittings

·   Tightness testing and purging

·   Safe operation of appliances

·   Manufacturers instructions

·   Appliance controls

·   Flue standards, design and testing

·   Ventilation

·   Gas rates and heat input

·   Unsafe situations

·   Labels and notices

Candidates will also be required to gain ‘on-site’ commercial gas work experience under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered engineer, details of this gas work experience will be recorded by the candidate in a comprehensive evidence portfolio.

On successful completion of this course, candidates will be eligible to undertake commercial gas qualifications such as COCN1 and CIGA1
